Description: The redevelopment of an existing petrol station site to the north of Holloway Road tube station. The brief called for an optimum of 160 student bedrooms in clusters of 4,5 or 6 around a common kitchen/lounge, with an area per room above the current average in order to maximise the value of the final scheme. The ‘gatepost’ design allows the maximum room allowance within the height constraints laid down by the Local Authority whilst forming a notional entranceway at ground level.
