Shinfield Nursery

Osel architecture successfully secured planning permission for a new two storey children’s nursery, café and community use building on a former farm site near Shinfield. Osel architecture produced, developed and coordinated the tender information with the professional team. The former farm buildings will be demolished, new buildings constructed and the site will be landscaped. Tenders are due back shortly and it is anticipated that works will start on site later this year.

Osel architecture are very pleased to help deliver this fit out project in Wapping, East London.
We successfully helped win a planning appeal to convert units back into commercial workspaces for use by Cherryduck- a locally established media company.

The ‘Nest’ is an exclusive workspace hub built with creatives, marketers, designers, filmmakers, photographers, animators, producers and everything in-between in mind.

Osel completed the measured site survey, design, Planning including the appeal and construction drawings. We also worked with the interior designer and coordinated to secure Building Controls approval.

The Oaks on Churchfield Road and High Street is delivering 170 residential units over new and existing retail development. Osel are working with O’Shea’s to deliver the scheme for late 2018,
with the scheme currently progressing on site.

Project Details

Located within the Littleberries Estate, formally the headquarters of the British Province of the Order of The Daughters of Charity and St Vincent de Paul, this existing Grade II Manor is being sympathetically converted into twelve exceptional residential units.

At the heart of the Manor lies a late C17 house, extended in the late 18th Century, and increased through the addition of a Seminary Wing and Chapel in the mid-19th Century, and the Refectory Wing in the late 19th Century. A small lodge house sits to the west of the property forming part of the entrance into the site and will contain a family dwelling.

The project has involved an intricate planning process, and extensive collaboration with the Local Authority. Considerate proposals have been developed to deliver a contemporary scheme within this sensitive building.
The complexities of upgrading original structures to meet with current standards has involved innovative and challenging solutions, to ensure that original features are retained and enhanced.

Project Details

A new 86 bed apart-hotel, in the heart of Hammersmith. The new Hotel is located within a conservation area. The proposal included demolition of an existing 4 storey hotel which had accommodation at lower ground, ground, first and second floor, and the erection of a 5 storey building with accommodation in the basement, ground, first, second, third and fourth floor mansard. The building above ground sits within the existing building footprint.
The client wanted to explore the use of a modular prefabricated construction technique. The super structural elements of the Hotel were fabricated off site (in the north of England) and shipped to site where they were assembled to form the hotel structure. The Hotel Façade was clad using traditional London Yellow stock brick and render sections and bay windows to reflect the local context. Unit sizes range from 17.8sqm to 24sqm with lift access to all floors. The rooms are built to a high quality finish and detail with a design unique to this hotel.

Project Details

The Client’s aim was to attend to this building with a five year plan in mind as well providing space to meet the top end market rates for office space in this area. This was achieved through the careful specification of finishes for the offices as well as high quality finishes and furniture to the reception. The refurbishment of the building also addressed the crucial need to overhaul the existing lift and upgrade the heating and cooling system of the whole building.
